Chelsea keen to extend young midfielder’s contract

The star in question here is Moises Caicedo. The Blues paid £115 million to sign him from Brighton which raised eyebrows of everyone. Caicedo has shown everyone his worth this season by putting on steller performances in multiple positions.

Caicedo has played 41 games this season and has registered 1 goal along with 3 assists. He has played as central midfielder and right-back in addition to his natural holding midfielder role. He has been superb in all these positions and the Blues are impressed with it.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are set to hold talks with Caicedo over new contract. The 23 year old is already tied with the Blues until 2031. But, the West London giants want to reward Caicedo by offering him a new contract for his stellar performances this season.

Caicedo is one of the best players for Chelsea right now. He is as important as Cole Palmer. Signing a new contract will be beneficial for both club and country. The player can get pay-rise whereas the club will feel secure about future.

Chelsea are also said to sign another midfielder this summer. They want a perfect partner for Caicedo. Enzo Fernandez has been linked with away move whereas Romeo Lavia has been highly injury prone due to which Chelsea are unsecure about future.
