Chelsea are set to take an important decision about their 25 year old winger this summer. The player joined the Blues only in summer 2024 but has failed to impress. Hence, his future at West London is very uncertain.
The star in question here is Jadon Sancho who is at Chelsea on loan from Man United. The 25 year old fell down the pecking order at United after falling out with then United manager Erik Ten Hag. This forced him to spend the first half of 2023/24 season on bench.
Sancho was then sent on loan to Borussia Dortmund for second half of 2023/24 season. He impressed there with good performances and returned to United. But, he was unable to get back in the starting lineup which made the Red Devils to part ways with him.
United tried to sell Sancho but were unable to find a permanent solution. Later, they agreed a loan deal with Chelsea on the deadline day. The Blues signed him on season long loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Chelsea to take important decision about Sancho this summer
According to Fabrizio Romano, the West London club will take an important decision about Sancho in summer. The 25 year old has failed to impress the Blues which has resulted in him surrounded by uncertainty about his future.
Chelsea will need to pay £25 million to Man United if they want to buy Sancho permanently. However, they can also break the clause by paying £5 million as penalty fee. Earlier, it was said that the Blues are planning to make Sancho their permanent player.
However, Chelsea can also opt to sell Sancho quickly after signing him. As of now, he is looked upon by Borussia Dortmund. In addition, he is also said to be open to join them for third time.
