Two Chelsea stars are set to stay at West London atleast until the end of the season. Both stars were linked with away moves with one almost on the verge of bidding farewell to Stamford Bridge.
The January transfer window has just few hours remaining to shut down. The activity in market has intensified with clubs trying to find best possible solutions. Chelsea were linked with many moves and are very busy in market. But, 2 players are set to stay at West London due to some reasons despite being wanted by foreign clubs.
Two stars set to stay at Chelsea
The first player in question here is Christopher Nkunku. The 27 year old was desperate to move away from West London after just 1.5 years. He was not made regular starter by Enzo Maresca which made him unhappy and asking for a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Nkunku agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich who were keen to sign him. The German giants were ready to sign him permanently but the Blues wanted €70 million for the attacker. This forced the deal to collapse as Bayern found it very hard to pay such a high fee.
Later, Nkunku was being viewed by Man United who wanted to replace Marcus Rashford. However, it seems that this move has also collapsed. Florian Plettenberg has reported that Nkunku is now set to stay at West London atleast until the end of the season.
Nkunku can have a change in fortune in the second half of the season. Joao Felix has joined AC Milan on loan and hence Nkunku can now play regularly. In addition, he can even play in his preferred position as a winger or as an attacking midfielder.
The second player in discussion is Aaron Anselmino. The Blues recalled him from loan last month but he was looked upon by Ligue 1 giants Marseille. They wanted to sign the defender on loan and the Blues agreed the deal at first too. But now, Matt Law has reported that the deal is off and Anselmino will stay at West London.
