Chelsea are interested to part ways with many of their current stars this month. This will help them to generate much needed profit which will help them to comply with PSR. In addition, it will also help them to open up space for new signings.
As of now, 2 stars are close to move away from Stamford Bridge as they have already found potential suitors. Both stars are far down the pecking order and are very rarely playing under Enzo Maresca. The away move will be in the best interest of both Chelsea and the players.
Ben Chilwell to final move away from Chelsea
The first star in question is Ben Chilwell who joined the Blues in 2020. The left back only had one season with the Blues where he was perfectly fit. He is now way behind in pecking order and has played only 45 minutes this season.
Enzo Maresca already made it clear to Chilwell that he is not in his plans. He wanted to part ways with the 27 year old in summer. However, the former Leicester star was injured and hence was unable to find a new club for himself.
Earlier it was reported that no club is showing interest in Chilwell. But now Football Insider have reported that West Ham are keen to sign him. Hammers have appointed Graham Potter as head coach. Potter already knows Chilwell from their time together at Chelsea.
Lazio set to improve their bid for Cesare Casadei
The second star in question is Italian midfielder Cesare Casadei. Casadei has also fallen down the pecking order and has played only 6 games and is yet to play in Premier League this season. He is heavily linked with return to Serie A.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Lazio are set to improve their bid for Casadei. He added that Torino too made new bid but it was not enough to convince Chelsea. Lastly, Romano said that it will be a permanent transfer and the Blues want a heavy sell-on clause inserted in the contract.
