Chelsea had an another busy transfer window this summer but they missed on some of their targets. The Blues are desperate to improve their defence and it should be their priority next year. Chelsea are now scoring on regular basis but we witnessed the weakness in their defence yesterday. The Premier League giants are keen to sign a defender and are now linked with Tomas Araujo.
Chelsea were tore apart yesterday on two occasions by Brighton. But thanks to Cole Palmer who ensured that they finish the match with all three points. Palmer scored 4 goals in a single half creating Premier League history. Enzo Maresca will have a lot to think about considering how easily his defence was breached by Brighton.
Chelsea really like Tomas Araujo
Fabrizio Romano in his daily briefing for CaughtOffside said that Chelsea made a move for Araujo late in the summer transfer window. But Benfica were not interested to sale their defender at that moment.
Benfica will do all in their powers to keep Araujo at the club. But it is very hard when top clubs like Chelsea come banging on your door. It was not long ago when, The Blues wanted Enzo Fernandez from Benfica and they got him in the end.
Along with Chelsea there are many clubs who are looking closely at Araujo at the moment. Romano said that Chelsea really like Araujo and is on their radar. But, the transfer expert has not predicted the defender’s future as he thinks it is too early.
Castello Lukeba is another name linked with Chelsea who currently plays for RB Leipzig. Leipzig have not intention to sell the 21 year old as they sold Mohamed Simakan this summer.
There are no talks reported by Fabrizio Romano at the moment between Chelsea and any defender. The Blues are monitoring many defenders and we may see more names linked with them soon.
