Chelsea transfer updates- changes in the attacking department

The new premier league is starting in just a week from now. All clubs are either done with their transfer window or are in the process of signing their desired players. Clubs are also letting go of the player to make the squad balanced. One club that is in the highlight because of their squad size are Chelsea.

Currently, their registered squad has more than 40 players in it. It’s only a week until their first premier league game in the next season. On August 18th, Chelsea will host the defending champions Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. However, there is still a lot of concerns for Chelsea on and off the pitch.

Chelsea are going in this season with again a new manager as Enzo Maresca became the new manager after Mauricio Pochettino was sacked by the board. Blues went on a US pre-season tour before the season. Although, the pre-season was quite underwhelming for them.

In the pre-season tour, they played 5 matches with only 1 win against club America and a draw against Wrexham. Even though pre-season is all about the performance and giving the game time to youngsters and not the results, the performance was not at the desires level for the fans.

They will have their last pre-season match on Sunday against Inter Milan. It will be their last match before their first premier league match against City next week. There are possibilities that Maresca may go with a strong side in this match against Inter. It will provide the much-needed game time to the main players before the match against city. Furthermore, Cole Palmer and Marc Cucurella are also back from their break.

Transfer window so far for Chelsea and Osimhen updates

Throughout this break, Chelsea have been quite busy in the transfer window. They have made many additions to their squads. There is still a chance that they might someone else too before the deadline day.

Chelsea are still linked to the idea of getting a new number 9 and have bene linked to a quite a few options. We may actually now have an idea of how Chelsea’s attacking lineup can look like in the new season.

Chelsea have been linked with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen for quite few months now. There were rumors of this deal to go through in the winter transfer window too. However, the deal never got turned into a reality. Now, the Nigerian has only 2 years left on his contract. Speculations were made that he will leave Napoli this summer.

The recent reports from the Athletic revealed some interesting about Chelsea transfer plans. They are not only working on Romelu Lukaku deal, but are also focused on getting Victor Osimhen. The negotiations are going on for a loan deal with an option to buy with Napoli. However, Osimhen’s agent has snubbed all these loan deals as nothing but rumors. It may be possible that Osimhen joins Chelsea on a permanent transfer.

Napoli has set a release clause of £110million for Osimhen. Chelsea are trying to make a deal for a less price than that. PSG are also interested in the striker so Chelsea need to act fast to get this deal through.

Alternating options for the Blues

Apart from Osimhen, Chelsea are also eyeing Samu Omorodion. Athletic recently reported that Chelsea have agreed a deal for £34.5 million for the 20 year old striker. The contract is set to be for 7 years. Last season he scored 9 goals and provided 1 assist for his loaned club Deportivo Alaves.

Madueke seems to have made his place in the starting lineup at the RW position. Cole Palmer will retain his no10 role. There are still doubts about the left wing position. Enzo gave Sterling and Mudryk a chance at the LW position. However, both of them failed to impress. There is a possibility that Nkunku may start on that left side against Manchester City.

Regarding the departures for Chelsea, few players are set to move on from the club. Chelsea have too many attacking options available and they need to let go of some players. One name that is on the top to leave is Romelu Lukaku. Napoli are interested to sign him and this may also push the Osimhen deal for Chelsea.
