Chelsea and Man United hold strong interest in young Premier League striker. The player will be available in the summer window for £30 million. However, he has his personal demands which will make his transfer saga more interesting.

Chelsea are set to bring in another striker this summer. They want to sign a young striker which will fit in their hiring policy. Enzo Maresca wants the new striker to serve as backup for Nicolas Jackson but at the same time compete for the starting position.

On the other hand, Man United are set for a major summer overhaul. They are set to part ways with many of their current stars. As of now, they can be seen parting ways with both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund. Hence, a new striker will be the top priority of the club.

Chelsea & Man United have common striker on their radar

According to The Telegraph, both Chelsea and United hold strong interest in Liam Delap. He is 22 years old and currently plays for Ipswich Town. This season, Delap has scored 12 goals and picked 2 assists in the Premier League which has attracted multiple top clubs.

The report adds Delap has a £40 million release clause in his current contract. But, this will drop down to £30 million if Ipswich get relegated. As of now, the Tractor Boys are on 18th position but are 12 points off the club sitting on 17th position.

Lastly, the report adds that Delap aslo has some personal demands. He will like to join a club where he will be a first-choice striker. The player is 22 years old and currently does not have financial motivational but is rater keen to improve his gameplay.

Man City have a £40 million buy-back clause in Delap’s contract. But, they have no intention to trigger it as of now. Hence, Chelsea and United can be seen as front runners in the race. The 22 year old will need to make a key decision in the coming summer window.
