Chelsea have completed the signing of another talented Portugese youngster. It was only yesterday when they secured the services of Geovany Quenda.
The Blues moved ahead of every other club to sign Geovany Quenda. He is 17 year old Portugese talent who plays for Sporting CP. He will move to the West London in 2026 after completing 18 years of age. Chelsea will pay around €51 million to Sporting for Quenda.
The Blues have now signed one more player from Sporting. He will be able to join them this summer itself. He is currently 20 years old and having a great season at Spain. The West London club have also agreed on price with Portugese giants.
Chelsea agree deal with Sporting for young midfielder
The star in question here is Dario Essugo who is currently on loan at Las Palmas. He is 20 years old and plays as holding midfielder. But, he is also able to play higher on the pitch as central midfielder. He has played 17 games this season and registered 1 goal too.
Essugo was looked upon by Chelsea since a long-time. Now, A Bola have reported that they have agreed a deal with Sporting CP. They will pay €22 million for Essugo who will complete his move to West London this summer.
It will be interesting to see if Maresca involves Essugo directly in first-team or sends him on loan for some more time. Either-way he will be looked upon as a great signing for the future. Moving to Premier League will also come as big step-up in player’s career.
The deals getting completed recently suggest that Chelsea are moving rapidly in the market. There are plenty more moves expected as Maresca still wants to fill multiple areas. As of now, they can be seen signing striker, winger, keeper and atleast 2 defenders.
