United and Chelsea keen to sign Liam Delap

As per the Mirror, Chelsea and Man United are keen to sign the 21 year old striker. The report further states that Delap has also attracted attention from Juventus who are planning to replace Dusan Vlahovic.

United are lacking a consistent goalscorer right now. Both Zirkzee and Hojlund have been unable to impress so far this season. Delap can definately add a more goal threat for new boss Ruben Amorim.

On the other hand, the Blues still want to sign a new striker despite the fine form of Nicolas Jackson. Delap fits well in their system of hiring young players. The 21 year old can be a quality backup for Jackson incase Nkunku leaves the club.

Ipswich boss has his say about the current situation

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna had his say about the current situation of Delap. Firstly, he said that he is not aware and not even interested to speak about the potential move of Delap. He added that this question is for other peoples like chairman.

“My full focus is on this season and, with regards to Liam, trying to help him to continue to improve. I know Liam’s full focus is here and trying to help the team” – McKenna about the current situation.

Later the Ipswich boss said that this is the first season where Delap is playing regularly as number nine. He added that the 21 year old is doing really well and had a great start to the season.

“So this is his first season doing it week-in, week-out, maybe doing it two times a week, and he’s doing it at Premier League level. It’s positive that he’s doing well, but it’s really early days. His focus, my focus, our focus is to keep trying to improve” – McKenna about Delap this season.
