Chelsea, Man United and Spurs are all keen to sign 22 year old English fullback. The player is currently impressing with Belgian club Gent. The name of the player is Archie Brown who is linked with a move back to England.
Brown came to Derby County academy and has played for England under-20 team. He move to Switzerland to play for Lausanne after which he earned a move to Gent. The Belgian club signed him for only €4 million last year.
Brown then upgraded his level and played 41 matches for Gent last year. He is now their regulat starter and has already played 22 matches this season. He has been able to top it up by scoring one goal and picking two assists.
The fullback’s form has been attracting a lot of top clubs. Now TBR Football have reported that English clubs are planning to welcome him back to England next year.
Gent will demand a much higher price as they know the value of defender. They have him tied down with a contract running until 2027 and hence will have a big say in his future.
Chelsea, United and Spurs keen to sign Brown
As for Chelsea, they surely need a quality left back soon. Currently, Reece James is being used as left back which is not his preferred position. Marc Cucurella has been injury prone whereas Ben Chilwell is very close to exit.
Man United have more injury issues than that of Chelsea. Their both left backs have been highly injury prone and are yet to play this season. Infact, Malacia has not yet played since the end of 2022/23 season.
Tottenham have the lowest need to sign a left back as of now. Their players are performing well and they have many options available to play in that position. But, they may look to find replacement for Ben Davies who will be 32 years old at the end of this season.
