Chelsea are showing strong interest in French attacker. The player can cost them €100 million. The Blues are joined by multiple others in the race.
Chelsea have completed the signing of Liam Delap. Enzo Maresca wanted a new striker and now has got one. The 22 year old costed the Blues only £30 million. This transfer fee is viewed as bargain considering the age and quality of Delap.
Delap is likely to play ahead of Nicolas Jackson next season. Jackson has been highly inconsistent ever since moving to West London. On the other hand, Marc Guiu who is still very young is likely to be sent on loan. The Blues plan to improve him by giving him a chance to play regularly.
Despite signing Delap, the Blues are still in market for another striker. They feel the need to add more depth. In addition, £30 million for Delap suggests that they have more money left to improve the number nine position. As of now, they are looking at French striker.
Chelsea showing strong interest in French striker
According to Florian Plettenberg, the Blues are very active in race for Hugo Ekitike. He is 22 years old French striker who plays for Frankfurt. He scored 22 goals and picked 12 assists in 2024/25 season and hence has impressed everyone.
The report further adds that Chelsea have held more talks for Ekitike. But, more teams have shown interest in the 22 year old. Frankfurt have not ruled out the possibility of them selling Ekitike this summer.
Frankfurt have not received any offer for Ekitike yet. They are demanding €100 million and are unwilling to negotiate on lower price.
