Chelsea want to keep one player who is attracting interest from Italian clubs. However, the player wants to move away on loan to get more game time.
Chelsea have a vast squad depth which has both good and bad outcomes. The good thing is the club is never short of options despite injuries and suspensions. However, the bad thing is players with low game time getting unhappy.
Enzo Maresca has his preferred players and intends to use them at highest stage. He has done great job and provided others with game time in other less important competitions like domestic cups and Conference League.
However, some stars are still happy and want to move away from West London. Some are prepared to leave permanently whereas some want to move away on loan in search of game time.
One of them is Chelsea’s summer signing Renato Veiga. The Blues paid £14 million for the 21 year old Portugese star. But, he has not been able to get regular game time in Premier League. He has started only 1 league game and played only 177 minutes so far.
Veiga has interest from Italian clubs – Napoli and Juventus. Journalist Nicolo Schira earlier reported that, the 21 year old is prepared to move away from the Blues on loan as he wants to play more. But, the West London club thinks otherwise.
Chelsea not ready to sanction Renato Veiga’s loan move
Nicolo Schira has once again reported that the Blues are not ready to part ways with Veiga despite his willingness of playing more. They consider him as a key player and hence it is very likely that the 21 year old stays at West London until summer.
Veiga can play in variety of positions. He can play anywhere in the backline and can even play as holding and central midfielder. He is currently being used as left back by Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea are desperate to sell Ben Chilwell this month. This means Veiga will be the only backup for main starter Marc Cucurella. This may be the reason why the Blues are unwilling to sell Veiga mid-season.
