Chelsea will finish above Tottenham Hotspur, claims Craig Burley

After a successful transfer window, Chelsea are finally getting back on track, they currently sit in 3rd place at the English Premier League table.

Tottenham Hotspur has a better start as compared to their London rivals and a big win over Manchester City ensured them to stay at the top. The difference is not that big, Spurs and Liverpool are just 2 points above the West London giants.

Even though the Blues are below Spurs in the table, former Chelsea player Craig Burley thinks the opposite.

Chelsea will finish above Spurs – Craig Burley!

Former midfielder Craig Burley scored 7 goals in 113 appearances for the Blues during 1989-1997. He is currently a commentator and football pundit for ESPN and BT Sport.

Burley, told ESPN:

‘Oh yeah. I think Chelsea are a much more talented team than Spurs.”

“Tottenham have a good squad but Chelsea have an unbelievable amount of attacking players.

They got great experience in with the signing of Thiago Silva, they’ve got a natural left-back in Ben Chilwell. The rise of Reece James has been meteoric, he’s taking his game to a new level.”

“I just think Chelsea have better options [than Tottenham]. They’re in as good shape as they can be to mount a title challenge.”

Before the Spurs’ match against Manchester City, Frank Lampard said, “I know we are top of the league for five minutes but we have to think about the big picture.”

However, Lampard urged his side to be humble following their win against Newcastle United.

The two sides face each other in a crunch fixture in their next league match. Tottenham Hotspur are currently first in the table with a better goal difference than Liverpool.

In this much-awaited London derby, it would be master Jose Mourinho against his student Lampard.

Spurs look confident after a big win against Manchester City. However, without Toby Alderweireld, it would be difficult to stop Chelsea from scoring.

The defence would be mostly dependent on captain Hugo Lloris, who successfully kept a clean sheet last time around.

The last time these two sides met was a draw but Spurs overcome the penalty shootout in the round-of-16 of the EFL Cup. Lampard would be looking for sweet revenge on the coming weekend
