Chelsea’s €60 million target can force the exit of 3 current players

Chelsea are recently being linked with Atletico Madrid star Pablo Barrios. This deal can then force the Blues to part ways with three of their current stars.

Enzo Fernandez has been reported to leave Chelsea next year. It is because the Argentine has fallen down the pecking order. Enzo Maresca has started using Romeo Lavia instead of him which has reduced his playing time.

Now, CaughtOffside have reported that the Blues are open to hear offers for both Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei. Both of these stars are far away from becoming regular starters.

The Blues want to reduce their squad number before making new signings. It will help them in keeping up with PSR rules. All of these three stars leaving however will need a new signing for sure. And as of now, Pablo Barrios is the name highly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Can Chelsea sign Pablo Barrios in january?

Atletico have no intention to sell Barrios who has been their academy player. But, they will part ways for sufficient amount as all the money earned from the deal will count as pure profit. Atletico are demanding in a region around €60 million for their 21 year old talent.

Barrios fits perfectly in Chelsea’s system of signing youngsters. But, he will also demand regular gametime which a player of his quality surely deserves. Chelsea may not guarantee him that which may serve as a deal breaker.

The Blues will also receive heavy competition from other top clubs. At the moment the Spaniard is looked upon by Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester City along with Chelsea.

City have the most need as they will be without Rodri until the end of the season. They will also have to look for the replacement of Kevin De Bruyne who is nearing the end of his career.

Hence, Chelsea making a move for Barrios looks very unlikely in january. But, the Chelsea board has always surprised as they are not shy to take bold decisions.
