- Chelsea are having a fall-out with Josh Acheampong
- The condition is turning very ugly and the player’s future is at risk
- Five big clubs are looking to take advantage of this situation
Josh Acheampong has played for Chelsea from under-8 level. Last season he made his senior debut and played in Premier League game for the first time. This year he once again played for the first team in Carabao Cup fixture.
Acheampong is only 18 years old and is viewed as a player with very bright future. He has impressed the club very much and has also played regularly for England’s youth teams.
What exactly is the fall-out between Josh Acheampong and Chelsea?
Acheampong earned contract renewal from the Blues recently. His new contract runs until 2026. But, Chelsea are keen to extend it even further. That’s what has created problems between the club and the player.
The 18 year old is refusing to extend his contract beyond 2028. Chelsea are scared that they may lose him for free due to the growing interested of other top clubs. This has forced them to take a very harsh decision.
Chelsea have told Acheampong that he will not play for the club again until he signs a new contract. This has prevented the player from playing even at the youth stage. It is a very serious concern as the youngster’s development is at risk.
5 clubs interested to sign Acheampong
Real Madrid are linked with a move to sign Acheampong and his compatriot Trent Alexander-Arnold. Their main right back Dani Carvajal is injured and is nearing the end of his career.
Secondly, Liverpool have also set their eyes on 18 year old as a long term replacement for Arnold. Arnold is in final year of his contract and is very heavily linked with a move to Spanish capital.
German giants Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United were the last two clubs reported to hold an interest in signing Acheampong earlier. Both of these clubs have been able to develop young talents regularly.
Now as per The Independent, Acheampong has a new suitor from Franch. It is Paris Saint-Germain who are keen to find a perfect backup for Achraf Hakimi. They even sent scouts to watch the player recently in action for England under-21 team.
All of these clubs are keen to take advantage of Chelsea’s fall-out with their star. They will patiently wait and hit the Blues with a massive blow. Chelsea board will have to find a perfect solution very soon otherwise they will put their own future along with the player’s at risk.
