Chelsea’s top scorer is unhappy with the club’s strategy

  • Christopher Nkunku is unhappy with Chelsea right now
  • The 27 year old has been the top goal-scorer for the Blues this season
  • He might switch sides and join Manchester United in january

Christopher Nkunku joined Chelsea last year after impressing them with his time at RB Leipzig. But, he was unlucky in his debut season at England. He quickly faced a serious injury which limited his chances of playing last season.

Nkunku only played 14 matches last season and scored only 3 goals in those. He was unable to pick any assist either. This season the story has changed as the Frenchman has been able to stay fit.

Despite being fully fit, Nkuku is unable to receive regular chances. He has played 18 games so far but has only started 1 Premier League match. Most of his starts have came in other competitions.

Christopher Nkunku unhappy with Chelsea

Despite not being a regular starter, Nkuku is still the top goal-scorer for Chelsea this season. He has scored 10 goals and picked an assist too but is still unable to earn his spot as main striker.

This is because of Nicolas Jackson who has been in a superb form. Nkunku has scored more goals than Jackson but only 1 out of his 10 have came in Premier League.

In contrast, Jackson has scored all of his 7 goals in Premier League. He has also been able to top it with 3 assists. This gives no chance to anyone to question why Enzo Maresca prefers Jackson above Nkunku.

As of now, Nkunku is nowhere near replacing Jackson. Now as per The Athletic, the Frenchman is unhappy with the manager’s choices of keeping him on bench and using him as a substitute.

Nkunku is now 27 and has entered peak of his career. He may be open to move away from Chelsea in January in search of regular game time. As of now, he is being linked to Manchester United who are keen to upgrade their attack.
