City to prevent Chelsea from signing 21 year old English gem

  • Man City are planning to prevent Chelsea from signing Liam Delap
  • Delap has been in a great form this season
  • The 21 year old has already scored 6 Premier League goals this term

Chelsea are yet again linked with striker. They are still keen to improve their attack even after the top form of Nicolas Jackson. The Blues are linked with some big names across whole Europe.

Christopher Nkunku who is used as backup striker is very heavily linked with Chelsea exit. This will need the Blues to sign another backup striker. They already have Marc Guiu, but they still feel that they have space for one more.

The Blues are now linked with 21 year old Liam Delap. Delap joined Ipswich Town from Man City this summer. He has been in superb form as he has scored 6 goals and picked 1 assist in 12 Premier League games.

Man City plan to prevent Chelsea from signing Delap

As per Fichajes, Man City are planning to resign the 21 year old. They have a buy-back clause which will help them secure the services of Delap in just £20 million. This may come as a big blow for Chelsea.

Delap will hope to join a club where he can play regularly. The 21 year old will look to secure his place in England national team. He has a perfect chance now to receive his first ever international call-up.

Firstly, Harry Kane who is captain of national team is the current main striker. He is ageing and will be replaced in the coming years. Ollie Watkins has experienced a dip in his form whereas Toney has moved to Saudi side which will decrease his chances of receiving regular calls from national team.

As of now, Delap will plan to stay at Ipswich until the end of the season. Firstly, he is only 2 goals away from equalling his best goal-scoring season. Lastly, he will also hope to attract many other top clubs in the summer window by continuing his top form.
