Club will not accept cut-price deal for Arsenal and Liverpool target

  • Arsenal and Liverpool have both shown interest in Mohammed Kudus
  • West Ham have now taken a major stance regarding the future of 24 year old
  • This decision may come as a huge blow for both of the interested parties

Mohammed Kudus had a very good first season with West Ham. He scored 14 goals and picked 6 assists in 45 games last season. Earlier, he has also proved himself in Champions League while playing for Ajax.

This season has not been very good for Kudus. He has scored 2 goals and picked 1 assist in 10 games so far. It has been revealed recently that Kudus wants to return to playing UCL and hence may move away from Hammers next year.

As of now, Liverpool and Arsenal are said to have interest in signing 24 year old. Both clubs have felt a need to improve their attack recently. But now, West Ham have taken a key stance regarding the future of Kudus. This stance may upset the interested clubs.

Arsenal and Liverpool may find it hard to lure Kudus away from West Ham

As per Football Insider, West Ham are not interested to part ways with Kudus. They will want any interested party to pay the full price included in his release clause. Kudus has £85 million release clause and his contract runs until 2028 with Hammers.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool may now hesitate to make move for Ghana international. They will not want to spend such a hefty amount but the long term contract makes the stance of Hammers very strong.

Gunners want to sign a quality winger who can also play as number ten when required. Kudus fits in that cateogary and can replace Gabriel Martinelli who has shown a dip in his form recently.

On the other hand, Liverpool are planning for a long-term replacement of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian is in his final year of contract and there are no talks about extension as of now. He will turn 33 next year and hence may need proper successor very soon even if he signs contract extension.
