Chelsea‘s star player Cole Palmer is in sublime form. The England international has contributed to his club and country magnificently.
The 22-year-old has a big contribution to Chelsea’s brilliant start to the 2024-2025 campaign. Palmer has started in all the games for the Blues this season. He has either created a goal-scoring chance or scored a goal himself in every match yet.
Chelsea continued their Premier League campaign after the EFL Cup round. The Blues registered a dominant 5-0 victory over Barrow in which Plamer scored once. the winning streak is still on a high as they defeated Brighton 4-2 at Stamford Bridge.
Cole Palmer scored all four goals in the first half creating Premier League history. Palmer is the first player to score 4 goals for the club before halftime. Cole scored his third goal with an amazing freekick which is in the contention of goal of the month.
Brighton arrived at the Stamford in the hope of at least getting a point. This hope seemed possible as Hove Albion were the first to score. Georginio Rutter was the player to open the account for the Seagulls when the Blues failed to make a clearance in the 7th minute. Brighton also scored a second goal but were outclassed by Cole Palmer’s sheer brilliance.
Palmer’s skills and class were a bit too much for the seagulls to match. The England international was also assisted by a set of great players. Nicolas Jackson and the new signing Jadon Sancho helped Palmer score a quadruple for the Blues.
The Chelsea camp was ecstatic as their 22-year-old star player set and broke records in the Premier League. This win has given the Blues a confidence boost and with this they will aim to win the League title this season.
All support from teammates and management for Palmer
Cole Palmer joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023. The English winger did play under the guidance of ex-manager Mauricio Pochettino. Chelsea’s new manager Enzo Maresca has considered Palmer to start all the games for the Blues.
Maresca has shown full confidence in Cole as he has been one of the team’s top performers. The Chelsea boss said to Palmer that he should’ve scored a couple more goals even after his record-breaking performance. According to the Metrosport, he said-
“I just said to Cole, he scored four but should have scored two or three more goals”.
The English winger missed two big chances that could have added a fifth and sixth goal to his scoring tally. Cole might have missed these chances but the manager is full of praise for him. Enzo says that he is a prodigious talent and the team demands more of him.
Many of Plamer’s teammates also showed their support towards the Englishman. All four goals were scored by Palmer which led to some funny comments made by his teammate. Chelsea winger Noni Madueke took on social media and shared a post celebrating with Palmer and captioned it ‘ How greedy’.
Jadon Sancho also commented that he is aware of Cole’s potential. He says that he has been with Palmer since their days with Manchester City. He continued by saying that anything is possible if you have Cole Plamer in your team. It is no surprise to him that Cole scored four goals.
Cole cements his place on the National team
The England national team manager Lee Carsley has already been looking for the squad earlier this month. Several Englishmen have been in good form for their respective clubs.
An obvious choice for the national team would be Harry Kane. the English captain saw his side lose to Spain in Euro 2024 final. Kane’s time with Bayern Munich has been good as he is their top scorer this season. Another key player in the squad is Declan Rice who will be the heart of the England team.
Real Madrid‘s Jude Bellingham and Manchester City’s Cole Palmer are also in brilliant form in their clubs. These two youngsters have struggled to gel together in the national team. Cole Palmer has been consistent in form for his country. Palmer also scored an equalizer in the Euro final which was assisted by Jude Bellingham.
Cole has already scored 6 goals and provided four assists in the Premier League. If He continues to maintain this form he may outclass Bellingham’s or Foden’s role in the national team. It would be tricky for the interim manager Lee Carsley to manage these youngsters.
There is still a lot of time for the next big tournament, The FIFA World Cup in America. These young lads would look to maintain their brilliant form and statistics to cement their role in the upcoming World Cup.
