Corentin Tolisso is facing complications in order to extend his contract with Bayern Munich. Both the parties are facing difficulties while finding a way out and being on the same page for an extension.
Bayern Fans would like to see more of the French midfielder at the Allianz Arena. However, as things stand, there is no formal agreement between Tolisso and Bayern to extend the Frenchman’s contract.
The Bavarians have been busy handing contract extensions to some of their Veteran and youth players. Reports recently suggested that Manuel Neuer is on the verge of extending his stay at Bayern.
Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski will see their respective deals expire in 2023. Bayern are hopeful of keeping the experienced duo beyond 2023 and they will begin talks with them very soon.
Meanwhile, Bayern’s academy players like Paul Wanner and Lucas Capado will also be rewarded with new deals. Both of them came on as substitutes during a 2-1 loss against Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this month. The young midfielders made their debut together and had some bright moments as soon as they came upon the pitch.
The youngsters did not fail to impress during their short appearances for Bayern Munich. However, Die Roten are facing some unwanted issues in an attempt to extend Corentin Tolisso’s contract.
Real Madrid and Chelsea could sign Corentin Tolisso if Bayern fail to extend his contract
Tolisso is undoubtedly one of the best midfielders of this generation. The 27-year-old has been an important player for the Bundesliga champions since his arrival in 2017. The former Lyon man was also a part of the French national team that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Corentin Tolisso has won a total of 13 Silverwares with Bayern since joining the club 5 years ago. Meanwhile, reports are suggesting that contract talks between Bayern and Tolisso have taken a halt because of the Frenchman’s demands.
Since Tolisso is in his prime he would want to earn a good amount of wages as other important players earn in Bayern. Secondly, his desire to get more game time in a star-studded squad. He has to compete against the likes of Leon Goretzka, Thomas Muller, Joshua Kimmich, and Marcel Sabitzer, who signed for the Bavarians last summer.
Julien Nagelsmann has a bunch of extremely talented midfielders to choose from. It is not an easy task for Tolisso to break into the playing 11 regularly with so many strong and efficient midfielders already grinding for a spot.
According to El Nacional, Real Madrid are tracing his situation closely to make a possible move later this summer. Chelsea are also looking at him as an option in the midfield to replace last summer’s deadline day signing Saul Niguez.
