Cristiano Ronaldo bags Serie A MVP Striker award

Another season of Serie A football and another season filled with goals. Rafael Leao broke the record for the fastest goal in Serie A history. Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez were unstoppable. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was Zlatan and Alvaro Morata was offside. A truncated schedule increased the pressure on the strikers to perform week in week out.

A total of 1079 goals flew past the keepers throughout this season. Juventus scored 76 goals and Cristiano Ronaldo scored 29 of them making him Serie A’s top-scorer. Nor could the defences or even COVID stop this machine from bagging his goals. In fact, immediately after recovering, he scored 2 goals off the bench!!!

Romelu Lukaku won the Most Valuable Player award while his teammate Nicolo Barella won the MVP Midfielder award. Dusan Vlanhovic won Best Young Player after an impressive season in which he smashed the net 21 times. Cristian Romero bagged the MVP Defender award and hot transfer topic Gianluigi Donnarumma won best MVP Goalkeeper.

Serie A season for Ronaldo

Across 33 games, Ronaldo scored 29 goals and grabbed 2 assists. He missed 3 games because of injury and illness and was excluded from the squad for 2 games due to tactical reasons.

After scoring 3 goals from he first 2 games, COVID struck. Everyone thought Ronaldo might not be back to his best. But that was just the calm before the storm. He returned to gun down Spezia’s defence. His incredible form continued as he had 10 goals in 7 games. The maximum number of games in a dry spell was 3. As Juventus struggled to gain ground, Ronaldo continuously showered goals to keep their top-4 hopes alive. He bulleted a brace past Udinese in the final minutes to keep Turin afloat.

Ronaldo might leave

Juventus lost the Scudetto to Inter Milan ending their 9-title run. Sources have claimed that Ronaldo is unhappy at Juventus and is looking for a move. He is interested in making a move to Manchester United.

Another year, Another assertion. Whenever or wherever Ronaldo goes, he will set a mark, a testimony, a benchmark that would stay for ages.
