Cristiano Ronaldo wants to Return back to Real Madrid from Juventus

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

After yet another disappointing result in the Champions League for Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo, there are speculations of him returning to Real Madrid.

The 36-years-old Ronaldo went to Juventus to win the Champions League with them. But unfortunately for him and Juventus, they have been knocked out of the competition by FC Porto even though they were the favorites to qualify. This is the 3rd season running where they have been knocked out despite being the clear favorites.

First, it was Ajax in the Quarterfinals of the 2018-19 season. Then it was Lyon in the Round-of-16 of the 2019-20 season. And now it’s Porto again in the round of 16 this year.

Looking at their performances in the competition now it looks likely that Ronaldo might not stay for much longer at Juventus. Considering the fact that he is getting older and won’t play for much longer.

Zinedine Zidane reacts on speculations of Ronaldo returning to Madrid

According to reports emerging in Spain on Friday night, the agent of Portuguese star has contacted Real Madrid in regards to his potential return to the club after the end of the season. Zidane looks keen on getting back the five-time Ballon d’Or winner at Madrid.

“You know what he is, what he has done, and how much love we have for him. He made history here, he’s magnificent. Now, he is a Juve player and I cannot tell you anything about what they (media) are saying. He’s a Juve player and I have to respect these things.” – Zidane told reporters.

It took a record-breaking transfer in 2009 to get Ronaldo to Madrid from Manchester United. Ronaldo hit the ground running in Spain scoring 450 goals in 438 appearances. He helped the Los Blancos to 2 La Liga titles while leading their line. He was also a key part of the Madrid side which won three consecutive UCL titles.

Looking at the current state of Real Madrid, the fans might be over the moon by hearing this news. As of now, they sit 2nd in the La Liga table with 57 points in 27 matches. Next up for them is the 2nd leg of Round-of-16 of the Champions League where they are leading after they beat Atalanta 1-0 on their own hometurf.
