Custodian TP Rehenesh extends his stay at Jamshedpur FC

First choice goalkeeper of the Jamshedpur FC TP Rehenesh has signed a three-year contract extension with the club on Monday. As of the new contract, he will don the Red miners till the 2024 season.

Rehenesh has been one of the best performers for the Red Miners last season. The custodian made 54 saves during his 19 appearances with almost 74% save accuracy. Furthermore, he kept 9 clean sheets in the tournament.

“I haven’t been able to meet the fans personally, but the love they show for me, and the club drives me to perform better every match and win for them. I am glad to continue here, and I hope I can help to bring glory and trophies to the club in my time here – the fans deserve it,” – stated TP Rehenesh

Born in Calicut, Kerala Rehenesh played his first professional match for the I-League club ONGC back in 2012. He also played for Shillong Lajong that too competes in I-League.

In 2015 Indian Super League club NorthEast United FC signed Rehenesh on a five-year deal. The following season he secured 47 saves in his maiden ISL season that is also the highest number of saves by any other goalkeeper.

Later NorthEast United loaned the goalkeeper to the Kolkata Giants East Bengal for two consecutive seasons. Before signing for the Jamshedpur FC Rehenesh played for the Kerala Blasters FC.

Since his professional debut at ONGC, he has played 148 fixtures from which he has secured 44 clean sheets.

Rehenesh excellent performance for the Tata Group-owned club Jamshedpur FC helped them finish sixth on the table previous campaign.
