FIFA World Cup is back with all the excitement that football fans experience with it. The tournament is set to be played in November-December 2022 in Qatar. The tournament will kick off with Qatar hosting Ecuador in the Group A game. The first big game of the tournament will be Spain vs Germany on 27th November in a Group E game.

However, football is an interesting sport and the unlikeliest of results are also possible anytime. So the excitement is always at a high for such a prestigious competition. As the FIFA World Cup is fast approaching, former English footballer, Darren Bent has chosen an over-30s XI from the World Cup teams.

For a few players, this tournament is being touted as their last due to the age at which they are going to play. It might not be possible to see some of them after 4 years again. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are both considered to be a part of the list. The legends of the game are approaching the end of their careers and playing another FIFA World Cup seems impossible.

FIFA World Cup is going to witness some world-class players despite being over 30

Darren Bent’s XI is a star-studded line-up with proven world-class players in every position. Alisson has been selected as the Goalkeeper for this all-star XI ahead of contenders like Manuel Neuer, Hugo Lloris, Fernando Muslera, and Emiliano Martinez.

The defense is built on the back of experience as Thiago Silva and Virgil Van Dijk play as centre backs. Arguably the two best defenders of the Premier League are a good choice at the heart of the defense. Meanwhile, Jordi Alba and Kyle Walker are Darren Bent’s fullbacks. Although there is some concern regarding the form of Jordi Alba still he will go to Qatar with Spain and is a very good option at Left Back.

The real attraction of the over-30s team is the Midfield and Attack. Darren Bent has chosen Kevin De Bruyne and Luka Modric as the central midfielders behind a superstar front four. The frontline comprises of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Robert Lewandowski. A combined 358 international goals between the players.

The team surely looks very attractive but is heavily offensive. Of course in an ideal world, any manager would play N’Golo Kante or Sergio Busquets instead of De Bruyne or Luka Modric to strike a perfect balance. However, in a dream team, there is no such realism. Nonetheless, what this team goes to show is that despite being over-30s these players are playing amazing football and making a real dream team!!
