Dean Huijsen has already embraced the pressure of representing Liverpool, who have shown interest in signing him this summer.
Dean Huijsen has already talked about representing Liverpool
Liverpool are looking to sign 20-year-old Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth this June.
The Dutch-born Spain international has already demonstrated himself in the top leagues. He has already played for Juventus, Roma and Bournemouth. He has a release clause of £50 million in his Bournemouth contract.
The defender might be a no-brainer considering how quickly he has developed. And how well he has performed in the Premier League so far. Reports suggest that the Reds have already been in touch with the player’s camp.
It appears that he is comfortable with the pressure of the famous red shirt. He has received his first senior cap for Spain in March.
Huijsen is Ready for Big Stage
Dean has already shown the maturity and mindset of a player built for big moments. When asked if he’s ready for a club such as the Merseyside club, he pointed to Van Dijk’s own path. He argued that the Reds’ captain didn’t sign for Liverpool until he was 26.
The Spain international has very good things to say about Van Dijk. He impressed by calling the Netherlands only skipper as being the best in the world. It appears it may very well give him confidence to learning with him. Ibrahima Konaté’s contract is also running until 2026. And talks of an extension are still unclear,
Arne Slot‘s side could view the Cherries star as a fresh, long-term option at the back. Interestingly, Huijsen also called Joel Matip the most underrated centre-back he’s seen in the Premier League. He is showing his awareness of the club’s defensive legacy.
He can join as a backup, a partner, or a future leader at Anfield. However, it’s clear the centre-back has both the talent and the quality to thrive with the Reds.
