Dean Smith in advanced talks to become new Norwich City Manager? Former Aston Villa Head Coach Dean Smith is leading the race to replace Daniel Farke as the new Norwich Coach. Aston Villa sacked Dean Smith just a few weeks ago after a poor string of results in their last 5 matches. The Villans lost their 5 previous Premier League Fixtures as they have only 10 Points out of the 11 matches that they have played.

On the other hand, Norwich City is in an even worse condition. The Canaries are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table with just one victory in 11 matches. Norwich City has lost 8 matches under Daniel Farke who also got sacked recently. Only 5 points separate the Two clubs from each other. Villa is at the 16th spot with 10 points and Norwich are at the bottom with 5 points.

Aston Villa hired former Liverpool great Steven Gerrard as their new Head Coach after sacking Dean Smith. Reports were continuously emerging that Norwich City is in advanced talks with Frank Lampard to succeed Daniel Farke at the Aviva Stadium. However, the former Chelsea boss is no longer in contention to Manage the Canaries. Dean Smith is the sole candidate to take over a Norwich side that needs a miracle to get off the Relegation Zone.

Can Dean Smith pull Norwich City out of the Relegation Zone to stay in the Top Flight

The report claims that Smith won over the Norwich City board with his ethos and vision for the squad. Frank Lampard is no longer interested due to his desire to seek out other opportunities.

Should a deal be finalized in the coming days? Smith’s first game in charge of Norwich City could therefore come against Southampton on November 20 following the international break. While Steven Gerrard is set to manage his first Premier League game against Brighton on matchday 12.
