Dele Alli off the Mark for new Club Besiktas

Dele Alli

The fall of Dele Alli has been a spectacular one and it can be measured in terms of the last two World Cups. At the most recent tournament in Russia, Dele was a vital part of the England side that reached the semifinal stages.

While with Spurs, he had become an England regular but, as the England team prepares to battle in Qatar 2022, Dele is a million miles away from the current squad.

Alarming Slump

As Gareth Southgate’s England team were progressing through the rounds in Russia, it would have been unthinkable for Dele Alli to not be involved four years later. The simple fact is, however, that the attacking midfielder has not featured for his national side since the game against Switzerland in June 2019.

Since that time, previous club Tottenham Hotspur have run out of patience with the underperforming player. Dele signs for Everton in January 2022 but, after less than six months at Goodison Park, he’s been moved on once again.

Battling Back with Besiktas

Towards the end of the summer transfer window in England, Everton boss Frank Lampard decided that Dele Alli did not form part of his immediate plans. The player has moved to Turkish side Besiktas and, while the deal is a loan until the end of the season, there is an option to buy clause.

Things have started positively enough for the former Premier League star. He scored his first goal in over a year when he found the net in Besiktas’ 3-2 win over Ankaragucu at the start of September. It’s only a start but there is something for Dele to build on as the 2022/23 campaign progresses.

Targets for the Current Season

Dele Alli’s great friend and former Spurs teammate Eric Dier believed that the player was relishing a new challenge in Turkey. There’s certainly lots to play for as his temporary employers Besiktas look to progress through the campaign.

After the first six games of the new Turkish Süper Lig season, Besiktas sat in third place, just one point off the league leaders Konyaspor.

Besiktas won the division as recently as 2020/21 and are among the favourites for glory again. In fact, the team known as the ‘Black Eagles’ are the narrow favourites to win the division. According to the best football betting sites in india and around the world, Besiktas are just ahead of great rivals Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor.

The odds in question are supplied by sportsbooks affiliated with Asiabet and there is room for them to adjust. As the Turkish season develops, the pricing will react to every match weekend and any updates can be quickly viewed on the Asiabet website.

Visitors to the site can take some time to assess the fluctuating markets while taking in news stories and opinion articles that will appear here. Handy betting guides are also published and, any reader that wants to put their knowledge into use, is able to do so.

Any betting operator referenced on those pages is set up to take on new customers. Prospective account holders will need to complete a secure sign up form and add funds to make an initial bet.

A range of deposit methods can assist with those funds while help operators can step in if needed. Once onboard, there will be other advantages for regular players. Ongoing promos are likely to be in place while the majority of operators provide live markets and mobile betting via an app.

It’s the site from which to follow Besiktas this season, but can Dele Alli drive his new team to success?

Can Dele Alli get back to the top?

It’s a long way back for Dele Alli. His aim will surely be to get back into the full England side but he’s unlikely to attract much attention from coach Gareth Southgate while he is playing in Turkey. A return to England would therefore prove to be a stepping stone in the interim.

Few Premier League sides would be interested at this stage, but a positive season with Besiktas could help to change their minds. He’s still only 26 and Dele Alli’s best years as a player may yet be ahead of him.
