Denis Zakaria interested to move to Liverpool next year?

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Denis Zakaria wants to move to Liverpool next year according to several reports. The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder is keen on securing a move to the English Outfit. Reports in the past suggested that Zakaria could be on his way to Manchester United during the winter transfer window. The Merseyside have now joined their league rivals in order to sign the Swiss International.

The midfielder has been a key figure for his club this season in the Bundesliga. He has appeared 10 times for Monchengladbach this term with two goals and one assist to his name. Manchester United are also ready to challenge Liverpool to register the midfielder’s signature. Meanwhile, Zakaria will become a free agent next summer as his contract with the club is due to expire next June.

There is no agreement between Zakaria and Monchengladbach over a new contract as of now. It appears likely that the Swiss will be seeking a move away from Borussia Park at the end of his contract. Liverpool are currently putting up championship-winning performances in all the competitions. They have already progressed to the next round of the UEFA Champions League and the Reds currently sit second in the Premier League table.

DENIS ZAKARIA WILL PREFER A MOVE TO LIVERPOOL INSTEAD OF GOING TO MANCHESTER UNITED

According to El Nacional, Zakaria is also the subject of interest from AS Roma, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich. However, his first choice would be a move to Liverpool. The midfielder is determined to secure a switch to the English top-flight in 2022. The 24-year-old Swiss reportedly wants to win trophies and play in the Champions League every season.

Zakaria is a defensive-minded midfielder with a fierce approach and is also defensively sound. He can add some more flair and intent to the Liverpool side, who are already causing problems to the opposition’s defense.

According to Blick, Manchester United has contacted the midfielder to express their interest. They can sign him for free next summer when his contract expires, but the Red Devils will face stiff competition from other clubs as well. Therefore, to avoid any competition they will reportedly have to offer him a €10-12million (£8.4m-£10m) signing bonus. Monchengladbach director Max Eberl recently said that the club will allow the Swiss to leave Borussia-Park during the January transfer window.

Zakaria has scored 11 times and registered eight assists in 138 appearances for his current club, as he arrived from Young Boys in July 2017.
