Dortmund set to offer the youngster a big pay rise

Borussia Dortmund are looking to hold onto up-and-coming youngster with a big pay rise. Youssoufa Moukoko, the 18-year-old from Cameroon, sees his contract expire this June end.

A number of big clubs are interested in signing the centre forward. He has been linked to the likes of Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Chelsea. It is natural for Dortmund to hasten up and offer him a fresh contract. Barcelona have been linked too, although the chances of the deal going through is actually slim.

According to BILD, the Black and Yellows are set to offer Moukoko a new contract. This will see him earning an annual contract of six million euros. To top this off, he will receive a signing bonus of ten million euros. His agent Wasserman would earn a five million bonus in addition to the 10% agent commission.

As soon as last week, reports came out that Newcastle are looking to bring him to England. The Saudi Consortium-funded club are ready to pay him a salary of nine million euros a year with a lucrative signing bonus of 30 million euros.

Borussia youngster’s preference

In November, the youngster expressed his choice to stay at Borussia Dortmund. This comes under the condition he gets adequate playing time to continue his development. His playstyle has definitely improved because of his maturity. As he grows, his spatial awareness and tactical understanding have improved. He has a habit of picking pockets in between defenders on the left with support from the attacking mids to drift in and draw defenders.

Borussia CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke did not rule out a move for Moukoko in summer. However, he remains hopeful that the youngster will stay for the foreseeable future.
