Dortmund to lower asking price for Manchester United target

Clubs across Europe that are chasing Jadon Sancho’s signature have been given a major boost. Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has told that the club will lower their asking price for the winger. This is a huge boost for Manchester United who have been after Sancho since last summer.

“We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions”. – Michael Zorc on Jadon Sancho.

This is potentially a piece of great news for Manchester United, who could not sign the winger last summer due to the high asking price. However, they will face stiff competition from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool who are also interested in Sancho.

Manchester United are after Jadon Sancho again

Sancho has seen a slight dip in his performance mainly due to injuries. This dip in form and the financial instability caused by the coronavirus pandemic meant that Dortmund will be forced to reduce the price.

The 21-year-old Englishman can play on both wings and is an excellent dribbler of the ball. His creative numbers and goal outputs are on par with the best in Europe. Sancho has scored 6 and assisted 9 goals in 23 appearances this season.

For Manchester United, Sancho was one of their main targets last season. But the move never happened due to Dortmund’s demand of over £100 million for the winger. With Zorc’s commend on the gentlemen’s agreement between the club and player, the price for Sancho could go down to £85 million.

Zorc has given the warning that Sancho will only be allowed to leave if certain conditions are met. The club will not entertain the transfer to go on till the beginning of the next season. So anyone looking to sign Sancho will have to complete the move by the end of July, prior to Dortmund’s preseason.
