Enzo Fernandez replacement: Chelsea monitoring 2 midfielders

Chelsea have now started looking for the possible replacements for Enzo Fernandez. They are keeping tabs on two players who they think can replace the Argentine.

Is Enzo Fernandez leaving Chelsea?

There is nothing yet concrete about Enzo Fernandez leaving, but it seems like that can happen. Fernandez has lost his place as regular starter as Maresca prefers Lavia above him. The Argentine is too good to ait on bench and hence may be seen making a move away. At the moment Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Inter Milan are linked with Enzo.

Fernandez recently started for Chelsea as captain against FC Noah. He played only 45 minutes and was able to pick three assists. But, it seems like he will be used for games like this and may not start regularly in Premier League.

Chelsea boss has said repeatedly that he trusts Fernandez. Maresca said the only reason Fernandez is not playing because he prefers the physicality of Lavia and Caicedo. He added that Fernandez will soon get chances to play.

Chelsea keeping tabs on 2 midfielders

As per CaughtOffside, Chelsea are keeping tabs on Samuele Ricci (23) of Torino. The Italian is also looked upon by Man City. City boss wants to find a proper replacement for Rodri who will miss the whole season due to injury.

The second player in Chelsea’s list is Pablo Barrios. As per Fichajes, the Blues are plotting a €50 million move for Atletico Madrid academy star. Barrios (21) is also looked upon by FC Barcelona.

Both of the targets are still very young and hence fit perfectly in Chelsea’s new system of signing young player. The Blues may also seen making a move in january but it will depend a lot on Fernandez situation. The Argentine can seek a move in winter and if not, he will surely move away in summer if he does not get regular game time.
