Enzo Maresca was quite vocal in his latest press conference for Chelsea. He went on to clarify on their Premier League aspirations. Since joining, the Italian manager has done an excellent job so far. The Blues have won 4 out of their 6 PL games. At the same time, they have only lost once. Their only loss came up against the defending champions. The have been excellent since the last international break. So much so that they have won 5 games on the trot in all competitions. Things are looking great at the Blue side of London. If they continue performing at these levels, they will surely clinch up a UCL spot this season.
Enzo Maresca rules Chelsea out of title contention
The Italian went on to clarify on the progress his side can make this season. He told BBC that they are far from competing with Man City or Arsenal at the moment. A strong contention for the crown is still out of bounds apparently. Moreover, he added that it isn’t because they are not ready. But, he believes that Man City and Arsenal are quite stable. Both of these clubs have had plenty of time with their current managers. Whereas, Enzo Maresca has been with Chelsea for merely 3 months. So, he believes that winning the Premier League could call for the club’s patience.
How far will the Blues go?
Man City and Arsenal have been great again this season. We believe that they will occupy 2 of the 4 spots for sure. Meanwhile, Arne Slot has also been doing wonders with Liverpool. So, the Reds could also be in the upper half of the table. Giving tough competition to Enzo Maresca and Chelsea would be Unai Emery’s Aston Villa. They are looking good once again and could spell trouble for the top teams. Hopefully, the Blues will be more patient with their new man in-charge. That was certainly not the case with Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino. But, maybe things will finally be different this time around.
