Aurier left the stadium at half time after a bust-up with Jose Mourinho

Tottenham Hotspur right-back Serge Aurier left stadium at half time after bust up with Jose Mourinho.

Tottenham Hotspur went up against Liverpool on the 29th of January, the fixture left Spurs disappointed as they suffered a major loss against the Merseyside in the Premier League.

Goals from Robert Firmino, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Sadio Mane were enough to help Liverpool grab the 3 available points.

However, the main talking point about this match was Aurier’ outburst with manager Jose Mourinho which led to him leaving the stadium after being substituted.

Is Aurier career over at Spurs after busting up with Mourinho?

According to Daily Mail Jose Mourinho was angry about Aurier’s mistake which he committed which led to Liverpool scoring the first goal of the match in the 45th minute.

Aurier seemed to have forgotten to mark Sadio Mane who had made a brilliant run to set up Roberto Firmino.

The 28-year-old’s lack of awareness helped Liverpool be 1-0 by half time, this made Mourinho furious and he resorted to substituting him at half time.

Mourinho and Aurier had a heated argument that created a gloomy atmosphere in the dressing room and the Ivorian leaving the stadium during half-time shocked his teammates and even the manager.

‘It was the mood of team that was difficult to accept you are losing.

‘It’s difficult to accept the nature of the goal because the goal is in some aspects a replica of the chance they had in the first minute. So it’s, of course, a mood where people is not happy.’ – Jose Mourinho Manager of Tottenham Hotspur

This bust-up could have a negative impact on Aurier’s career at Spurs as it could put his future with the club in major doubt. With his contract running till 2022 it looks like a move away from Spurs looks possible in the coming transfer window as his future with the club looks bleak.

Therefore it will be interesting to see which club he play for next season as a move away from Spurs could happen sooner or later.
