Manchester City signed Erling Haaland this summer after triggering his release clause. The Norwegian international had an extremely successful spell with Borussia Dortmund. The star striker started his career at Molde and soon after transferred to RB Salzburg in Austria. The striker impressed at RB Salzburg when he scored 6 goals in his first 3 appearances in UEFA Champions League.
The goals had come against Genk, Liverpool, and Napoli in the group stage. It was clear from his performances that he was not an ordinary player. Borussia Dortmund snapped at the opportunity to sign him in January of the same season. Erling Haaland instantaneously made an impact in the Bundesliga and established himself as a regular starter for the club.
The star striker has arrived in England this summer. He signed for Manchester City, a club his father used to play for. The Norwegian international has broken multiple records already in the league. The 22-year-old striker has scored an astonishing 15 goals in the first 9 games of the season.
Erling Haaland could have ended up at Inter Milan much earlier
Former Inter Milan President, Massimo Moratti has explained that the club had an opportunity to sign the striker in his teenage days. The former President has said that the Sporting Director at the time had suggested signing the Norwegian international when he was 13 years.
The club chose against signing Erling Haaland at that time. But it would have proved an outstanding signing as the player has developed into a world-class striker. Inter Milan have struggled this year to perform well in the league this season as the team sits in 7th position.
One does wonder that a player like Erling Haaland would have made quite a difference in this situation. Regardless of everything, the striker is tearing the Premier League apart and Manchester City is benefitting from his fine form. He does not look like stopping anytime soon and the club will hope that the player can continue to fire them to comfortable wins!!
