Ex-Arsenal star opens up about heart wrenching exit

Arsenal sold many of their players this summer. Some of them were academy products whom had to move away sadly. One of them was Emile Smith Rowe who joined Fulham on a permanent transfer. Smith Rowe has now spoken about his Arsenal exit and how tough it was.

Smith Rowe has been with Gunners since he was only 10 years old. He was viewed as a player with bright future at The Emirates. But, injuries hampered his career and it became necessary for both club and player to part ways. As a result, Smith Rowe joined Fulham this summer for £34 million.

Since joining Fulham, Smith Rowe has been very good and has managed to stay fit. He has played all 7 Premier League fixtures and has even scored 2 goals along with assisting another. Despite being in top form it seems like he still misses Arsenal from his recent comments.

Smith Rowe about how it felt while leaving Arsenal

The player who has spent 14 years at the same club will always find it hard to say goodbye. Smith Rowe too felt the same and told The Telegraph that it was the ‘toughest decision’ he ever made to leave Arsenal. But he further added that it was necessary for his future as he was not getting enough game time at North London.

“It was probably the toughest decision I’ve had to make. I’m still supporting them, I still talk to few boys. It’s all love” – Emile Smith Rowe about his Arsenal exit.

Later, Smith Rowe said that Alex Iwobi and Bernd Leno messaged him before he joined Fulham. He added that at that time he did not reply and hence is sorry for ghosting his teammates.

Lastly, Smith Rowe said that his main aim for future is to get back in the England national team. He already has 3 appearances for Three Lions and has scored and assisted one time each.
