Fabrizio Romano has recently confirmed a major news regarding the Blues. He has provided crucial information about the Chelsea’s transfer plans. He confirmed that Chelsea will soon enter the market for centre back.
Chelsea have started very well under new boss Enzo Maresca. There seems a lot of development as the club now sits on the third position in Premier League. But it could have been better if the Blues were good at defending.
Chelsea are very good in attack right now. They are scoring consistently but at the same time are conceding consistently too. Their failure to keep clean sheets has costed them but now the club has identified the issue.
The Blues can be seen making move for defenders soon. As of now, Fofana and Colwill play regularly but they do lack leadership. They are both very young and hence it seems like there is lack of maturity at the back.
On the other hand, Disasi and Badiashile have failed to impress. There are also rumours about them being on the sale list. Chelsea have rejected the rumours but it can still happen if the duo fails to impress soon.
Romano confirms about Chelsea plotting moves for centre back
Fabrizio Romano has shared a key update about the situation on his youtube channel. He said that the Blues are actively looking for centre back and also revealed their top priority.
“Chelsea are actively monitoring the centre back market. Let’s see if it will be January or summer. They considered Tomas Araujo in the last days of summer just gone but Benfica were not selling. Chelsea are interested in several players” – Romano about Chelsea’s future plans.
This confirms Chelsea’s interest in centre back position but who and when still remains the questions. As of now Araujo is still an option but he is very young too. A lot expected the new signing to be more mature and someone who can fill the shoes of Thiago Silva.
But it seems like the Blues want to stick to their system of signing young players. If we consider there other two options if confirms that theory. Chelsea are keen to sign Antonio Silva who is just 21 years old and Murillo who is just 22 years old.
