Fans loved Reece James gesture towards former Blues teammate

The Blues fans were glad last weekend after what their captain Reece James did to Arsenal striker Kai Havertz. Chelsea hosted the Gunners at Stamford Bridge in the match week 11 of the Premier League. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with both the teams sharing a point each.

Maresca’s men were trailing till the 70th minute. But a sensational goal from Pedro Neto put the game level. Captain Reece James wasn’t included in the starting xi as he was still not fully fit yet after returning from the injury. But he did came up on the pitch after the 80th minute replacing Malo Gusto as Maresca was trying to look for the winner.

What Reece James did to Kai Havertz and why?

A video of an interaction between James and Havertz has gone viral in the social media recently. It shows the Englishman wrestled Havertz on the floor after the German’s cross was cleared by him. After that James collected the ball back and gave it to his teammate Caicedo before pushing Havertz out of his way who just stood up after the incident. The German was again dropped on the floor, and the fans in the stands really loved that.

The reason behind James doing this is very thinkable. As Havertz, who was his former Chelsea teammate till the 2022-23 season, celebrated against Chelsea earlier this year after scoring a brace. As per the reports of Football.London That is also the reason why he received a bitter reception from the home fans last week.

However, what Reece James did cannot be justified. It was the Chelsea fans who were spreading hate towards the German when he was around. Havertz never got all the love from the fans and management at the Blues. That is why Havertz celebrated against them last season. If Reece James had to do show his anger towards Havertz, then he also should have helped him during his tough times at West London.
