Federico Bernardeschi: Napoli weighing up a move for the Italian star

Napoli

Napoli are reportedly plotting a move for the free agent Federico Bernardeschi after the Italian has been released by Juventus following underwhelming five campaigns at Allianz Stadium.

The 28-year-old joined the Old Lady of Turin back in 2017. After displaying great promise during his time at Fiorentina. However, things didn’t go well for the winger at Juventus.

Meanwhile, Bianconeri decided not to renew the contract of Federico Bernardeschi. The winger is currently a free agent and is looking for a new club.

According to the report in Calciomercato, Napoli have shown interest in signing the 28-year-old this summer. And they offered a contract to him in order to replace the club captain Lorenzo Insigne.

The report further claims that the Italian haven’t decided yet whether he will join the south coast team or not. And he has asked for time to evaluate the Azzurri proposal.

Should Federico Bernardeschi join Napoli this summer?

The former Juventus man could be a very good addition to the Napoli squad. The Azzurri need a quick winger and the 28-year-old will be an apt choice for Luciano Spaletti’s side.

Meanwhile, it will be a great opportunity for Federico Bernardeschi to regain his form and confidence. He will be a key player at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium. And he will have less pressure on himself.

So, it will be interesting to see where the 28-year-old will end up at the end of the transfer window. Signing for Napoli will be a shrewd decision. And at the age of 28, he still has a long time ahead in his career to showcase his talent at the highest level.

Meanwhile, despite challenging for the title for the large part of the season. Napoli just failed to win the Scudetto. So, Napoli will be hoping to mount a title challenge next season.
