The summer transfer window is set to open for Reds forward Federico Chiesa, with four Italian clubs monitoring his situation.
Federico Chiesa eyes Serie A return
Federico Chiesa is likely to part ways with Liverpool at the end of the season. After a short and poor run at Anfield, he is likely to make an exit this summer. The Italian winger joined the Reds from Juventus for €15m last summer. However, he struggled to get a regular start under Arne Slot.
He was hoping for a new life in England. Although, the forward managed to get just 395 minutes in all 12 appearances in all competitions. That includes just 33 minutes coming in the Premier League as well.
Nine of those outings were from the bench. That makes it clear that Slot doesn’t see him in his long-term plans. A move back to Italy is now looking most likely this June. Additionally, plenty of Serie A giants are ready to bring the 26-year-old back home.
Serie A giants line up for Chiesa’s signature
Inter, Napoli, Milan, and Roma are all in the mix to land the forward. Federico will have a tough time to make choice this summer. As four of the top Italian clubs are reportedly watching him.
Inter Milan are tracking him, as they are planning to sell Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic. Inter boss Beppe Marotta is looking to freshening up of Inter’s front line and Chiesa could be a great option.
Napoli are also keen on the Italian attacker, mainly if Antonio Conte remains in charge. Although the manager’s future is also in mix. He is also linked to Juventus and Milan.
However, going back to Juventus seems unlikely given that they sold him less than a year ago.
Roma are another option, with Claudio Ranieri looking for a young option in the squad. Roma could see Chiesa as a long-term successor to Paulo Dybala.
Chiesa may have not received the opportunity at Liverpool but he still has a good name in Italy. He should consider a return to his home country this June.
