Former Chelsea star urges summer signing to run it back

Chelsea signed Joao Felix this summer for around £43 million. He has yet to start a Premier League game and one former Chelsea star has asked him replicate the form he had at Barcelona.

Joao Felix had already had his time at Stamford Bridge. He was on a half season loan from Atletico Madrid in 2022/23 season. Felix then scored 4 goals in 20 matches.

Later, he joined Barcelona on loan last season. There, Felix was much better and scored 10 goals along with picking 6 assists in 44 games. His impressive performances forced Chelsea to sign him permanently this summer.

Felix has yet to start a Premier League game this season. But, he has played 8 games across all competitions. Felix is looking good as he has been able to score 3 times and assist 1 time in those 8 games.

Firstly, Gleen Hoddle said that he is not sure what type of player Felix is. He added that to the eye Felix is a very good player, he has lovely skills and he glides.

Later, Hoddle said that he was really happy when Felix joined Chelsea on loan. But then the former Chelsea star was disappointed. He was then impresses by the season Felix had at Barcelona.

“What I like about him, when I saw him at his best, is that he gets in the box and drifts into areas of the box. He’s going off the side of the defender and you play him where you can hurt a team” – Hoddle speaking about Felix’s time at Barca.

Hoddle then said that Felix maybe playing a little bit deeper at Chelsea. He added that the Portugese international can be a provider. Lastly, he asked Felix to step up and give manager reasons to have faith in him. Hoddle’s quotes are from Football London.

Recently, Felix started the game as striker for Chelsea. He was able to score 2 goals and was looking very sharp. He himself along with Chelsea fans will hope that Felix does the same in Premier League and help his team improve.
