One former England international has praised Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez. But at the same time he has urged the 27 year old to improve. He has also added that the Spanish keeper has already committed a lot of errors this season.
Chelsea are doing great right now. They have been in a fine form in Premier League which has helped them to secure the third position. They have improved in lot of positions especially attacking ones.
But, the Blues have lacked a spark in their backline. They have been unable to keep clean sheets and often times it has been because of their main keeper Robert Sanchez. The Spaniard has not been at his best and has conceded 14 goals in 12 matches so far this season.
Ben Foster thinks Robert Sanchez is not good enough for Chelsea
Ben Foster who has had a vast experience playing in Premier League has spoken about Robert Sanchez on his youtube channel. He made some bold statements about the Chelsea keeper.
“He’s a specimen, he’s an athelete, and he can make some of the best saves you will see. But just some of the goals that go in, I just think no, like that can’t go in that easily” – Foster giving mixed review about Sanchez.
“That’s how judge a goalkeeper anyways, I don’t need to really look at the saves, I need to look at the goals that go in, Could you prevent those goals going in, there’s too many already” – Foster judging Sanchez.
Sanchez needs to improve very much in order to keep hold of his starting spot. It is believed that Chelsea are already planning for his replacement. Portugese keeper Diogo Costa is very heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. But, Chelsea will face a very heavy competition for him from Bayern Munich as their legendary keeper Manuel Neuer is planning retirement at the end of the season.
