Former Inter Milan’s president Moratti reveals an interesting snippet on Inzaghi’s squad

Former Inter president Massimo Moratti discussed Simone Inzaghi’s squad in this season’s press conference.

As the season enters its second half, the Nerazzurri sit fifth in the league table. This is followed by a disappointing first half following their Scudetto disappointment. Inter Milan has lost five games in the league. But they have done enough in the Champions League to reach the next round.

Speaking to SportPaper, Moratti reveals some of his thoughts:

“Luciano Moggi wanted to leave Juventus to come to Inter before Calciopoli.”

“Simone Inzaghi’s team is already strong as it is and I don’t expect new signings in January, I don’t know who could suit the Nerazzurri now.”

Moratti further says:

“I don’t know, it depends on the club, we’ll see what they can do. So far they have done well, keeping strong players and building a proper team.”

“Inter have a chance to bounce back in the league, it will be a very good game with Napoli who are very strong.”

“Then the Nerazzurri have a very good chance to pass the round in the Champions League against Porto, it will also depend on Lukaku’s form.”

Moratti also talks about Mourinho’s choice in rejecting the offer of managing Portugal.

“This was a personal choice, Jose was brave in going to Rome. He is a professional bound by his contract with the Giallorossi, this reflects the serious personality of the man.”

Inter’s first game of 2023 is against Napoli on January 4. They will face Milan in the Supercoppa Italian final on January 18.
