Chelsea fans had a few glimpses of their future signing Willian Estevao as the 17 year old made history for Brazil against Ecuador.
Brazillian wonderkind who has been dubbed as the next big thing in world football, Willian is set to join Chelsea ahead of the start of next season. Before the most awaited move he has alreay made a name for himself in his home nation. Earlier this summer Chelsea had agreed a deal with Palmeiras for the transfer of the 17 year old. He has already got praises from another Brazillian legend. After Endrick he is the second youngest player to make his debut for the Canaries.
WHO IS WILLIAN ESTEVAO?
If you haven’t hear of the name Willian Estevao yet you are soon going to hear it. At 17 years and 142 days, Willian is the second youngest player to make his debut for the Brazillian national team. The Brazilian joined the Palmeiras academy in 2021 and since excelled. He was already their target in 2017 but was beaten to it by Cruzeiro. He already goes by the nickname ‘Messinho’ reffering to the great Lionel Messi. Not like others he can actually do wonders with his legs. The excellent body balance and a genius with the ball at his feet. He is also left footed making him more relatable to Messi. But doesn’t want to be called like that.
Joao Paulo Sampaio, the head of the academy at Palmeiras, told BBC Sport : “Estevao is the best player to have emerged from Brazilian football since Neymar. You watch him and you fall in love”
As per Transfermarkt.com Estevao has 24 goal contributions in 40 appearences in all competitions for Palmeiras. Neymar once reffered him as the next big talent emerging for Brazillian football. Chelsea are set to sign him from June 2025 for a reported fee of 56 million pounds as confirmed by talksport.com.
BRAZIL DEBUT
The 17 year old was called up to the senior national team for the two World Cup Qualifiers match against Ecuador and Paraguay. The youngster was tipped to make his debut against Ecuador and well he did. After an hour of the match played with Brazil leading 1-0 coutesy of a goal from Rodrygo. Estevao was called up to make his debut replacing Luis Henrique. Became the second youngest player to wear the Brazzilian jersey in a competitive match. The youngster was seen overwhelmed with emotions and covering his face with the Brazil jersey. He was about to make his dream come true.
The Canaries went on to win the match and he got to celebrate the victory. Their next match is against Paraguay on tuesday and Chelsea fans hope to see more from them. Willian also came against another Chelsea wonder kid 17 year old Kendry Paez who came on for Ecuador. Paez currently plays for Independiente in the Ecuadorian league and will join Chelsea along with Willian in the summer of 2025.

Chelsea after a free spending summer are gearing up to turn their season around after not the best of the start to the season. Enzo Maresca and his team have had a much needed break with most of his crucial players taking off from International duty. Wesley Fofana and Cole Palmer dropped themselves and are training at Cobham during the break.
After a topsey tuvey start with a win, lose and draw in the first three games, Maresca is till finding the best combination among his attackers. The deffensive display has been discent with Fofana and Colwill at the heart. Romeo Levia is set to be back after injury. But the right back position is in a bit of chaos at the moment. Reece James is already injured and Malo Gusto got injured against Palace on Sunday. Josh Achaempong might get a chance but nothing’s sure. Chelsea play against Bournemouth on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium in the Premier League.
