Gary Lineker on Gabriel’s North London Derby impact

Arsenal won the first North London Derby of this season. They have now won all three of their last away matches against Tottenham. Gabriel Magalhaes scored the only goal of the match and was voted player of the match. Gary Lineker took time to reflect on his performance in the latest The Rest Is Football podcast.

Gabriel scored his first goal of the season and Bukayo Saka claimed his third assist of the season. Gunners defence proved too strong for Spurs. Arsenal were able to keep yet another clean sheet.

Arsenal have now taken the second spot in Premier League. They are only two points behind the defending champions Manchester City.

Gary Lineker showers praise on Gabriel

Firstly, Lineker said that it is looking like Arsenal vs City for the title race once again. Later, he took time to reflect on the North London Derby.

Lineker said that it was not a great game or great spectacle. He added it was because he expected the game to be more end to end. Later, Lineker said that Arsenal are so hard to beat. He added that they defend very well.

Lastly, Gary Lineker spoke about the player of the match. He said that we often talk about Saliba but the partnership with Gabriel is very strong.

Lineker called Gabriel a warrior and said that he is a player you want on your side. Lastly, he said that Gabriel is tough to mark in the box and is a real threat.

Gary Lineker is not the only one to shower praise on Gabriel. Mikel Arteta spoke very highly about his defender after the game.

Firstly, he said that Gabriel has evolved into a phenomenal player. Arteta said that Gabriel loves to play and applies himself incredibly well.

Gunners will now try and make a strong point in their opening Champions League game of the season against Atlanta. They will travel to Italy for the game before visiting Manchester City next week.
