Hansi Flick has managed the national team well ever since his appointment. However, Germany has failed to live up to the expectations as they could not qualify for the UEFA Nations League group. Hungary defeated Germany recently 1-0 to eliminate the latter from the competition this season.
The Manager has some talented young players at his disposal. The team selection is also interesting in the aftermath of the loss. Jamal Musiala has been given a start against England. Nico Schlotterbeck has been included as a centre-back as well in place of Antonio Rudiger.
An injection of fresh blood in the first team is always considered a positive approach and Hansi Flick has chosen exactly that for the fixture against England. Armel Bella-Kotchap has been chosen on the bench after his impressive performances with Southampton in the Premier League. The 21-year-old will be pleased to get an opportunity with Germany however he will hope to get some minutes in the match.
Germany is looking ahead to the World Cup after Nations League disappointment
Manager, Hansi Flick is planning for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar as Germany prepares to challenge for the title. Last time, Hansi Flick went to the World Cup, he returned as a Winner in 2014. The German fans will hope that the Manager can replicate the achievement this winter.
The squad has shaped up very promisingly as there is a good blend of experience and youth in the team. Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer, Ilkay Gundogan, and Marco Reus represent the experienced players of the squad. Meanwhile, Jamal Musiala, Nico Schlotterbeck, David Raum, and Thilo Kehrer are the players to look up to the new crop of players.
However, the squad has a good balance in all departments and Germany will want Timo Werner and Serge Gnabry to fire especially considering their record for the national team. Both the players have an incredible goalscoring average for the national team. Manager, Hansi Flick will want to utilize their ability to convert to the best of their abilities. This is a good opportunity for Germany to mount a strong title challenge as the squad is well-balanced. However, the competition will be tough considering other teams also have built strong squads. Especially Argentina and Spain who are in sublime form as well heading into the tournament. Hopefully, Germany will live up to the expectations and perform well in Qatar!!
