Group D games of AFC Cup postponed to August

The AFC cup Group D games were scheduled from the 30th of June 2021. Group D that comes in the South Asia Zone has three teams with one place vacant for the winner of the South Asia playoffs.

According to sources, the following fixtures are likely to change and to be scheduled in August.

Due to the prevailing pandemic situation, football matches are waived. Moreover, tournaments are played safely within a strict bio-secure bubble in closed doors with no audience in the stadium to cheer the club.

The teams that will participate in Group D are ATK Mohun Bagan (India), Bashundhara Kings (Bangladesh), and Maziya (Maldives).

ATK Mohun Bagan are the runners-up of the ISL 2020 under the head coach Antonio López Habas. Custodian Arindam Bhattacharya kept 10 clean sheets was also awarded the Golden Gloves.

AFC Cup group D games were to commence from 30th June 2021 and end by the 6th July 2021. According to the previous schedule.

A total of 38 teams will compete in the group stage, and only 12 teams will advance to the knockout stage of the AFC Cup 2021.
