Gunners are already regretting their summer decision

Arsenal sent Reiss Nelson on loan which saw Raheem Sterling join them on loan from Chelsea. Now, Gunners seem to regret that decision due to various reasons.

Arsenal were looking to part ways with Nelson this summer. But, they were unable to find a permanent solution and hence sent the winger on loan. Nelson joined Fulham which opened space at Arsenal for another player.

Gunners then signed Raheem Sterling on loan with an option to buy. But, Sterling has failed to impress and will now only be viewed as short term solution. He is very likely to depart when the season ends.

Nelson on the other hand is having a good time at Fulham. Despite not being able to claim his spot as a regular starter he is doing really well. Former Arsenal star Alex Iwobi has also spoken very highly about his teammate.

“Reiss has been making an impact off the bench, and I’m sure he’s going to get his chance soon. We see his qualities in training. He glides past players and makes things happen on the pitch” – Iwobi while speaking to Sky Sports.

Reiss Nelson vs Raheem Sterling in Premier League this season

Nelson has played only 98 minutes whereas Sterling has played only 123 minutes in Premier League. Both players are not yet considered as the regular starters by their respective managers. But one has looked better than the other for sure.

Nelson has scored 1 goal and picked 1 assist in the league. On the other hand, Sterling is yet to register a goal or a assist. Nelson also has more shots, more shots on target and has also created more chances than the former Man City ace.

The 24 years old also tops Sterling if we look at completed passes, passing accuracy, touches and crosses. Reiss has also helped team more in defending than Sterling.

It seems like Gunners could be regretting their decision. They could have achieved more if they could only have given more time for Nelson to adapt. As of now, they are really missing right winger in the absence of Bukayo Saka.
