Arsenal are very likely to sign a striker next year. They may even be seen making a move for one in January. As per the recent report, Gunners are still leading the race to sign Viktor Gyokeres. Along with Gyokeres, Arsenal are also linked with Benjamin Sesko.
Gunners are without a proper number nine this season. Gabriel Jesus is a proper striker but is out of form and is struggling to improve. He is very likely to see an exit from The Emirates just as Eddie Nketiah saw this summer.
Kai Havertz is doing really well at the moment but this is not the natural position of German international. Gunners are feeling the need to sign more consistent striker and hence may not hold back in spending big.
Gunners lead the race for Gyokeres
Arsenal have been monitoring Gyokeres from a long time. They were even believed to make a move for Swedish international this summer. But later, Gunners changed their plans and dropped signing a striker. Now they are very likely to sign one next year and Gyokeres is a top target. According to Fichajes, Arsenal are leading the race to sign Sporting Ace at the moment.
Sporting are demanding around €100 million and there is no reason they will lower their price. Last season Gyokeres was unstoppable and scored 43 goals along with picking 14 assists in just 50 matches.
Gyokeres has once again started on a very high note this season. In the opening 12 matches he has scored 12 goals and picked 3 assists. This assures that the only way any club can get his signature is by paying €100 million.
Gunners may go big to sign Gyokeres next season as they are in good position financially. They may even sell more players to spend more. It will be interesting if Gyokeres carries the same form to Premier League if he moves to North London next year. It can be a 50-50 call as scoring against Premier League defenders is quite hard than scoring in Portugese league. However, Gyokeres will have more quality players around him at Arsenal than the ones he has at Sporting.
