Gunners make contact with 20 years old clinical striker

Arsenal have not been at their best since Saka has been injured. They had to face defeat in the Premier League fixture against Bournemouth. Yesterday, they were again tested in UCL fixture, and picked 3 points with a very narrow advantage. Hence, Arsenal are now desperate to sign a new striker and have made contact with Jhon Duran.

Gunners have been linked with many top names recently like Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres. Dusan Vlahovic has been the latest addition to the list. Now Sport Witness have claimed that Arsenal have made contact with Jhon Duran.

Arsenal keeping tabs on Jhon Duran

Jhon Duran has been one of the best strikers in Europe this season. He has already scored 7 goals in just 12 matches. What makes him special is that he has just started 2 out of those 12 matches. Duran has became key player for Aston Villa who were interested to sell him this summer.

Now, it seems like Duran has changes Villa’s mind and the club will very likely keep him. Villa will want to do well in Champions League along with retaining their place in Premier League top four. Hence, they are keen to keep Duran and will only listen to offers above €85 million.

Firstly, Arsenal had no plans to go after Duran. But now, the striker has shown his worth and attracted a lot of top clubs. Duran will surely add more attacking prospective to Gunners side. But his price tag may push Gunners far behind in the chase.

Mikel Arteta is not a fan of big spendings but he has made some exceptions. Arteta paid big money to sign Declan Rice but in case of Duran, the striker is still not highly experienced. There is nothing concrete as of yet about Arsenal’s interest in Duran.

As of now, Havertz stays as the main number nine for Mikel Arteta. He is doing really well but can add more influence when playing as an attacking midfielder or second striker. All these things suggest that we may see a big name proper number nine making his way to The Emirates next year for sure.
