Gunners vs Villa: Key Moments and Tactical Masterclass Revealed

Arsenal made a trip to Villa Park for their second Premier League match of this season. They were going to face former Arsenal coach Unai Emery and his side which qualified for Champions League this season. Aston Villa were able to slow down Arsenal in the first half. However, Gunners scored twice in the second half and defeated Villa in an amazing fashion. This is the second victory for Arsenal this season, whereas it was the first defeat for Villa.

There was only one change made by Mikel Arteta for this match. Jurrien Timber started the match over Oleksandr Zinchenko. Other than that, it was the same lineup like the one against Wolves. David Raya was the best player for Gunners against Villa. He got a 8.1 rating for making three saves. One of those three was an amazing save in the second half where he saved the header from Ollie Watkins with superb reflexes. Bukayo Saka and Thomas Partey got rating of 8 each.

Saka created both of the goals for Arsenal. Trossard who came in as substitute scored a goal from the cross which was deflected to him. The cross was from Bukayo Saka. However due to deflection, it did not count as an assist for Saka. Saka then created a goal for Thomas Partey who scored the second goal securing all three points for Arsenal.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Saliba were both amazing once again. Saliba got 7.8 rating whereas Gabriel received 7.2 rating. Both Ben White and Jurrien Timber supported the defence very well and eventually helped in attacking too. White was rated 6.7 whereas Timber who got his spot back in the starting lineup received 7.2 rating. Later, Timber was substituted on 79th minute. Riccardo Calafiori replaced him making his Premier League debut. Calafiori received a rating of 6 for his short cameo performance.

Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard were both booked in the match. However, they were both pulling the strings for Gunners against Villa. They both played an important role in the midfield. Rice got 7.4 whereas Odegaard got 7.6 as rating for their amazing display and domination in the centre of the park. Martinelli received rating of 6.5 and was substituted on 65th minute.

Leandro Trossard came in to replace him who opened the scoring for Gunners. Trossard received rating of 7.2 for his amazing finish in the bottom right corner. Kai Havertz started as striker once again but failed to leave his mark in this game. He was the lowest rated player for Arsenal at 5.9 as he had 0 shots on target despite playing the full match.
